Revelation 21:4

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

Life is hard. Pain and suffering can take so much of our thoughts captive. This verse reminds me that even in our suffering, all of these things will pass away. Heaven will be free from pain, fear, and sickness.

Life with Jesus Christ means death is a lie. The mourning and grief are not eternal, but life with Christ is. The broken things of this world are temporary.

This verse also reminds me that eternity with God is full of peace and joy. Nothing on this earth is going to compare to what eternity with Christ will be like.

This verse gives comfort when we are feeling down or walking through grief. Our future with God is better and full of healing. Fear does not have the final word. God does. It cannot take control of our lives when we have placed our hope in Jesus Christ.

I sometimes wonder why I go through trials and suffering, but the Word tells us that it builds endurance. After the trials are over, I can see how the Lord has refined me and brought restoration in every aspect, even if it did not end the way I wanted.

Jesus understands suffering because He entered into human suffering Himself. One day, anxiety, sickness, loneliness, grief, and fear will have no place anymore. This verse gives hope to people carrying silent pain that others may not see.

God does not ignore tears. He notices every single one. Pain can shape us, but it does not define our eternal future.

I think one of the most comforting parts of this verse is that God does not just remove pain. He personally wipes away our tears. That shows the tenderness and closeness of God toward His people.
